In 2019, Eleanor was commissioned to recreate as an illustration the wedding of Patrick and Maris Brontë. The image was to be included in a new book by Sharon Wright called ‘The Mother of the Brontës: When Maria Met Patrick’. Eleanor loves to expand and disseminate her knowledge of eighteenth and nineteenth century fashion, material culture and literature through the medium of Instagram. This curated space allows her to connect with a like-minded audience, to test interest in new areas of research and to share her drawings, historical reconstructions, paper cuts and recent findings (or the shareable, non-secret ones at least). In this space she also reviews new costume dramas and films, explores original texts and shares her own, ever-growing collection of historic magazines, journals, fashion plates and newspapers.
